I would like the students in my IDL 190 class to participate in at least one extra-curricular event before next Monday's class. That event can be Dancing with the Squares, Tae-Kwan-Do Club, an athletic or musical event, or any club meeting. You can attend the "learn Korean" meeting or go to "Friday Night at the Rec." Comment here on the activity you chose and whether or not you would recommend it.By the way, if any of you want an extra player for 3-on-3 basketball Friday, I am available. I play my position just as well now as I did in high school! That bench stays every bit as warm, if not warmer....

On tuesday eveing, I attended the Northern State volleyball match as they took on Mary. I thought it was a great way to get out and support the university. Even if you don't like sports, it was great to meet a bunch of new people and to, again, support athletics at Northern.
ReplyDeleteOh, and last tuesday, I attended the Pilates classes at 7 pm at Rec Center. It was a great way to stay in shape and my abs, finally, stopped hurting. :D

I went to the volleyball game on Tuesday night. It was fun and they won!! Too bad they don't have that many home games in September.

I went to the faculty recital on thursday night. It was incredible to see the talented professors we have teaching us. There were a lot of students there, which i enjoyed seeing. I was very happy to have gone to this.

I attended the faculty recital on thursday. The wide variety of styles and instruments really inspired me as a musician. i am really lucky to be able to talk with and learn from them these mentors.

I went to the volleyball game on Tuesday night. It was really fun and exciting to watch. I also thought it was funny seeing some of the fans dress up.

I attended Pilates last Tuesday night and I definitely got a work out! This past Tuesday, I decided to give my body a rest and instead I attended the volleyball game. It was really fun to watch, but sad at the same time because it made me want to play, just like in high school! Also, I have been attending the S.I. sessions, hoping that they will help me in Western Civ. as far as the tests. In addition, I stopped by the renovation booth today and I saw the building plans for the new student center. The man that was sitting at the booth said that he suggested that NSU put in a rock climbing wall for the student center. fingers crossed!

I attended Dancing with the Squares tonight. I thought it was going to be really lame, but I had fun and got a pretty good work out.

My RA had talked to me earlier and suggested that i get involved with a group call DLC, Diversity Leadership Council for McWelsh hall. She said i would be a good VP. So I got an application and applied today. They still need more people, so if you're in McWelsh you should apply too! It will be fun!

While I was at the Activities Fair I stopped by a booth that looked interesting to me. It was New Life Fellowship Salsa Night. It is a college age and people in the twenties Christian group that gets together and has fellowship, with chips and salsa, and praise and worship time. Before I left the booth they gave me a really big bag of cookies!

On Monday night I went to FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes). It is lead by Coach Budig. We played a game were you had to act out what was on a flash card and the team with the most correctly guest cards wins. My team lost by 1 card. After the game Coach Budig gave a message. He likes to use interesting things to make his point. This time he used a big screen TV and a little screen TV as his examples. He told us that some times God is the big screen and our full attention is on him, and sometimes God is the little screen and we only glance at it to see if it is still on. He told us that we need to make sure that God is the big screen TV in our lives. We also received a notebook (mine is pink) and we can use it to take notes in. I highly recommend FCA, I went all last year and I loved it!

Last night i went to dancing with the squares and it was a lot better than i thought. You really do have a good time and it is a fun way to meat others and move around. We did many dances ranging from spanish culture, i think dutch, to jewish sounding. Everyone should at least try this.

I have enjoyed getting involved in the various activities here at Northern. I attended Dancing with the Squares on the 21st. I had a lot of fun learning the different dances, for example the polka and the waltz! I plan to go to it again! I also attended the volleyball game on the 22nd when they played Bemidji State, which was fun being there and supporting the Wolves. The volleyball team did a great job as well! I also went to the football game this past weekend. It was a beautiful day for it, and I enjoyed being there and cheering on the Wolves! I also have been attending InterVarsity Christian Fellowship on Thursday nights at 6:30, by doing a Bible study. I'm excited to grow deeper in my relationship with God! :) I've really enjoyed being a part of this Christian club.
