Please add here your comments on the Student Activitities Fair. Which of the organizations/activities represented at the Fair interests you the most?Bonus: which organization offered the best "freebies"?
No chance to visit the Fair? Well, you can do the next best thing: look at the on-line list of student clubs on the NSU web site (http://www.northern.edu/student_organizations/clubsorganizations.html). No free food, but you can earn your extra credit (one whole point!) by commenting here on the organization that looks most interesting to you.

I attended the Student Activities Fair today, and I enjoyed going around to each of the tables to learn more about the club or organization. I'm interested in the Intramural sports, and I'm also going to be involved in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Going to the fair was a chance for me to find out more about the activities going on at NSU, and the free walking tacos and cookies were really good too! :)

I attended the Student Activities Fair today and I thought that it was really interesting visiting all the different clubs and organizations. I also thought that the walking tacos were really yummy.

I also attended the Activites Fair today. I stopped by both the C.I.A table and the S.E.R.V.E table. By going to a Catholic High School, joining C.I.A would give me the opportunity to continue my faith experiences. S.E.R.V.E also sounds like it would be a fun club. Traveling and service sound like they would be a good idea in college. And, who doesn't love free walking tacos and candy? :D

I was not able to attend the Activities Fair today. Instead, I talked to a student who is a member of the NSU Business Club and got information about it through him. Since I am a business major, I plan to join the business club at the next meeting Sunday night. I heard a trip to Colorado is being planned for next summer!

I went through the fair with a friend, mainly after finding out that there were several drawings for cash. Plus I rarely turn down the opportunity for free food. Best freebie award would be between Perkins (free muffins and 20% off entire bill) and Qdoba (free entree, marker boards). I would join an intramural team, but am not permitted to because of basketball. But I am planning on checking out the new church by Shop-Ko soon.

There were a lot of interesting and diverse activities advertised at the fair. The one that stood out to me especially was the volunteer service, alternative breaks organization (SERVE - http://www.volunteeraberdeen.org/index.htm). Though I signed up for a few different things (all of which I do not remember), after briefly discussing and learning a little about SERVE, I was convinced that it would be something worth definitely trying out.
ReplyDeleteThis particular group was appealing to me more than others because it seemed to offer broader range of experience not limited to just entertainment, for example. I think that the opportunity to provide a service, work, travel, and most importantly learn something about where and why I will be working should make for a fuller experience and that is something I look forward to.

They all had equal opportunity to my attention, but the only booth that managed to stop me belonged to the speech team. While trying to sell me on the program, they maintained eye contact, came off as very knowledgeable, and sent me an informational email later in the day. I am considering this group. And though they may not be affiliated with the college directly, award for the most innovative and talent oriented organization or establishment goes to the red rooster for their creative use of a karaoke machine.

I too stopped by the fair today and loaded up on freebies. The booth that most interested me was the intramural sports, and I aslo was interested in the masqures booth. The best freebies booth was the booth where you could sign up for free second semester books and get free meat and patato burritos. I've already ate two of those. Going along witht the free food, Wells Fargo's free walking tacos made my day. Also, I won the free four month membership to the Y. -Michael Schaub
ReplyDeleteI was at the student activities fair and the organization that i would join would be the rodeo club. I was in it last year and we competed in 4 fall college rodeos and 5 spring rodeos which ranged from traveling to River Falls, Wisconsin to Dickinson, North Dakota. It was fun and i encourage anyone who has competed in rodeo in highschool or 4-H to join. Kipp Cross
ReplyDeleteI attended the activities fair. I definitely partook in the free walking tacos and didn't exactly find a group I wanted to join but I did get a calendar for the rodeo teams schedule so I could maybe follow them a little bit.

I attended the activities fair, and probably the best part of it was the walking taco's. I've never even heard of a walking taco before, since they don't have them in Seattle. So i definitly enjoyed that part. I'm going to be joining the SAAC, since I'm on the softball team and I want to represent NSU sports.

I stopped by the activity fair and enjoyed seeing the different groups there. I got to find out what a walking taco was and got some information about some churches in the area. I got to meet some good people who are involved in the community and i hope to do the same.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing all the different activities at the fair and also really enjoyed the walking tacos they gave away. I'm hoping to get out there and play some coed volleyball! I was varsity all four years of high school and miss playing. Hopefully between work and studying for Marmorstein's class, there will be time to play!

It was quite interesting at the activity fair. I saw a bunch of my friends from Downtown Main. Some of them from Natural Abundance and some from the Red Rooster Coffee House. I spend most of my time at the Rooster. I enjoy helping Dan out with events. It was fun. Dan had karaoke and we started calling his booth the Porta-Roost. It was very enjoyable.
