Northern art students produce some very impressive works, some of which demonstrate the tendencies of 20th century art I talk about in class and some of which don't. Please visit the student art exhibit on the 1st floor of Spafford Hall. Which picture in the exhibit did you like best? What did you like about that particular work?

My favorite picture was "Isn't it Obvious." I love how the title goes with the art. There's a big red shape sticking out like a sore thumb, but almost hidden in the background are words. It's like it's saying that sometimes the obvious part is the part you have to search for.

My favorite picture was Glacial Meditation. It was very serene, and seemed so real. It was very neat with the color contrast, and how the guy/girl stuck out. It's a really neat photo, because the person is looking off into the distance, and I catch myself doing this. Just looking into the future and wondering "What next?"

My favorite didn't have a title/artist card. It looked like realism of close-up glass objects. The colors used were very neat and the images produced looking through the glass objects were interesting.
